Currently, most businesses in Thailand choose Facebook as the primary platform or channel for online marketing, such as Facebook Ads, which is considered a key tool for brands to communicate various content to new target audiences, helping to stimulate sales and create opportunities to acquire real customers. This is especially true for small businesses that can promote their brands effectively without being inferior to large brands.

However, anyone who has experience running Facebook Ads has probably heard of the technical term “Learning Phase” and wondered what it is? And how does it affect the Ad Campaign? Therefore, in this article, Relevant Audience will invite novice marketers to understand and hope to help apply it to Facebook Ads for even better efficiency. If you’re ready, let’s get started.

What is the Learning Phase on Facebook Ads?

It’s important to understand that every time an advertising campaign is run or when marketers make changes or edits, the Facebook Ads system needs to learn to define the target audience well and appropriately, find the best time and placement to display ads. This process can be collectively called “Learning Phase”

During the time the campaign is still in the Learning Phase, you have to wait until the system has processed everything completely. The recommendation during waiting is

When Does a Campaign Exit the Learning Phase?

Basically, the system will measure values until it reaches stability, measuring the occurrence of 50 Conversions or Events within 7 days (or possibly faster). It varies depending on the objective chosen, such as Traffic, Link Clicks, etc. If the campaign cannot run according to this, the system will adjust it from the Learning Phase to the Learning Limited.

Therefore, if the system sees that this campaign has potential to produce results that meet the criteria, it will exit the Learning Phase and it will be time for marketers to optimize Ads.

Conclusion

As you can see, this process is something that most marketers who use Facebook Ads encounter. Importantly, the Learning Phase has the advantage of helping you know what needs to be improved before it’s time to optimize Ads in subsequent steps. Another thing we would like to advise all novice marketers is “don’t be impatient”. If you are going to make any adjustments, wait until you have gone through the Learning Phase, until the ad set shows its true results. If it’s not good, just adjust or close it.
