Microsoft Ads is another channel for online marketing. As of 2023, it has been continuously rolling out new features to attract brands and marketers. For example, at the beginning of the year, there was an announcement of the Microsoft Store Ads feature, as well as the In-Market Audience feature (read more here).

This February, Microsoft has released product updates for Microsoft Ads again. Relevant Audience has compiled all the details in this article. Let’s take a look at all the details together.

Microsoft Ads Available in 164 Countries Worldwide

This first update expands the use of Microsoft Ads to another 34 countries worldwide. Currently, there are a total of 164 countries that can use Microsoft Ads. The 34 newly added countries are:

Automated Bidding on Audience Network

Currently, marketers using Microsoft Ads can use the Automated Bidding feature, which is a set of bidding strategies that use AI to help bid CPC (Cost Per Click) and others.

Along with the launch of Last Touch Attribution in Microsoft Audience Network, which allows you to change Conversion Goal Attribution, which will allow Automated Bidding solutions to choose both Click-Based Conversion and View-Through Conversion.

Finally, Microsoft allows users to create and manage Audience Shopping campaigns within the Microsoft Editor tool.

Data Exclusion for Automated Bidding

Similar to the Data Exclusion feature of Google Ads, it helps prevent issues related to Conversion Tracking or Issues Tagging and Website Outages by excluding them so they do not affect the bidding process and ensure that the data is accurate.

This feature can be used through Tools > Planning > Bid Strategies.

Add In-Market Audience Segment

The Audience Segments added include the “Valentine’s Day Shoppers” group, launched in India and available in the UK, US, France, Germany, and Australia.

Improve Conversion Tracking

  • Users can now delete Universal Event Tracking (UET) tags as needed.
  • Custom Events will be easier to set up and use.
  • Conversion Tracking can now be selected to apply to All Accounts.

Launch Google Import

Google Import is a feature that allows users of Google Ads Smart Campaigns to transfer data to Microsoft Ads. Currently, this feature is available in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, and Singapore.

Conclusion

With these new features, Microsoft Ads is another interesting channel for marketers who may have felt that Microsoft Ads were difficult to use, making them hesitant to fully switch to this channel. However, if brands or marketers want to expand their target audience, Microsoft Ads is another Marketing Ads channel that can deliver good marketing results to brands, just like Google Ads.
