Anyone who uses TikTok probably knows that finding the original content from the true creator is like “searching for a needle in a haystack.” With over a billion users per day, it’s not surprising that video content is repeatedly produced until it’s impossible to verify who the originator of the content is (Originator Content).

Recently, TikTok is launching its latest feature specifically to support creators, called “Creator Crediting.” What will this latest update look like? Is it easy to use, and will it help creators as TikTok claims? Let’s find out together.

The Creator Crediting Feature

Kudzi Chikumbu, Director of Creator Community, said, “This feature reflects an important step for TikTok to show people around the world that this platform remains a home for creative creators.” Sometimes, TikTok receives complaints from users that the owner of the video content is often stealing clips to use as their own and not receiving credit or even being tagged. Although TikTok has already released a feature that allows users to tag each other for some time, it hasn’t been enough to attract much interest. Therefore, TikTok has decided to launch a new feature called “Creator Crediting” to help users easily credit the original video content, regardless of the type of video.

Users will be able to use this feature after posting or editing a video. In this feature page, there will be an option to tap to “Tag the account.” This feature will include a description below the clip to credit the owner of the original clip idea.

The Creator Crediting feature will begin rolling out to users soon. It’s safe to say that when this feature is released, it will help many creators who are losing motivation to create content to return to creating new works.
