There are as many as one billion searches per day on Google, so it’s no surprise that Google is one of the main channels that all digital marketers plan to advertise online. One of the key factors is people’s purchasing of various products around the world. Therefore, Google has developed Google Shopping to meet the needs of buyers and businesses focused on selling specific products. Google Shopping gives every store the opportunity to advertise their products, which means there is increased competition among sellers. This article will introduce you to the “Filtered Search” feature that Google has added a new category called Smaller Stores to support small businesses. Let’s see how it works.

What are Google Shopping Ads?

First, we need to understand that Google Shopping Ads is a type of advertising from Google that collects products into catalogs from various distributors who pay for advertising. It displays product images, prices, and distributor names, as well as product ratings (if available), which makes it easier for users to find the products they want. For example, if a buyer wants a wristwatch, just search for “wristwatch”, and Shopping Ads will appear at the top, and when you click on the product, Google’s system will take the buyer directly to the store page.

“Smaller Stores” – A New Feature to Support Small Businesses

Another important feature of Google Shopping is Filtered Search (data filters), which is a tool that helps buyers select products more easily. Because when choosing products, you will find many items from various stores. Google has developed data filters to help limit search results specifically according to what shoppers want. And recently, Google has released a new feature to support small businesses, which Google calls “Smaller Stores”. Its operation is similar to other filters, helping buyers limit the scope of their product searches to display only what they have selected in Filtered Search. In this case, if we tick the Smaller Stores box, the list of displayed products will only include products collected from small businesses. However, this is just an additional update that has occurred in America. Users in Thailand may have to wait a while until Google releases this update for use.
