TL;DR

  • Shopee: orders unshipped at noon on 30 September 2026 must ship by 30 September in general areas, 1 October in flood-affected areas, and 2 October for bulky items in affected areas.
  • TikTok Shop: orders placed 24-25 September 2026 had until 28 September, and orders placed 26-29 September until 30 September.
  • Lazada: orders placed 24-30 September 2026 have until 11.59pm on 1 October on platform logistics, or 11.59pm on 8 October if delivered by the seller.
  • Neither the Bangkok Post report nor TikTok Shop's policy page says whether Holiday Mode affects search visibility or on-platform ads.

Shopee, TikTok Shop and Lazada, three major e-commerce marketplaces in Thailand, have extended shipping deadlines and shielded seller performance scores after flooding disrupted deliveries in late September 2026, the Bangkok Post reported on 30 September 2026. Each platform set its own dates. Lazada's run to 8 October for sellers who deliver orders themselves, while TikTok Shop's nationwide extension covers orders placed from 24 to 29 September. This post sets out what each platform announced, what the penalty protections cover, and what the reports leave unstated.

What the Bangkok Post reported on 30 September 2026

The Bangkok Post article, written by Suchit Leesa-nguansuk and published at 05:34 Bangkok time on 30 September 2026, says the three platforms introduced temporary measures to ease pressure on sellers affected by flooding. The measures take two forms. One is more time to ship orders. The other is protection from the performance penalties that normally follow late shipments, failed orders or cancellations.

The article does not say how many sellers are affected, how many orders are delayed, or which areas Shopee and Lazada count as flood-affected. None of those figures appear in this post, because none were published.

The rules differ by platform, by order date and by delivery method, so a seller with a shop on more than one marketplace is working to several deadlines at once. Some of the dates were close or had already passed on the day the article appeared. TikTok Shop's first deadline was 28 September, and Shopee's deadline for general areas was 30 September itself.

Shopee: deadlines depend on delivery type and area

According to the Bangkok Post, Shopee set its extended deadlines by delivery type. For standard delivery, SPX drop-off and sellers using their own fleet, orders that had not been shipped by noon on 30 September 2026 must ship by 30 September in general areas and by 1 October in flood-affected areas.

For bulky deliveries, Shopee extended the deadline in affected areas to 2 October. Certain express delivery orders in affected areas can be shipped by 1 October. Instant delivery stays on its normal schedule, so the extension does not apply to it.

The report does not say which express orders qualify. A seller using express services should check each order in Shopee Seller Centre rather than assume the 1 October date applies to all of them.

Shopee said orders shipped within the extended period would not be treated as late shipments or failed orders. Affected sellers can switch on Holiday Mode, and sellers who receive penalty points during the extension can appeal. The report does not describe the appeal steps, what evidence Shopee asks for, or how long a review takes.

TikTok Shop: a nationwide extension for orders from 24 to 29 September

TikTok Shop extended shipping deadlines for sellers nationwide for orders placed from 24 to 29 September 2026, the Bangkok Post reported. Orders received on 24 or 25 September could be shipped by 28 September. Orders received from 26 to 29 September have until 30 September.

TikTok Shop advised sellers who still face disruption to turn on Holiday Mode, and said affected sellers can appeal if problems continue during the extended period.

What TikTok Shop's own policy page adds

TikTok Shop's Seller University policy page for Thailand, which collects its shipping-extension announcements and carries the date 29 September 2026, lists three flood notices. The first, marked as an update, covers orders from 24 to 30 September 2026 for shops in 28 named provinces, among them Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Chonburi and Nakhon Ratchasima. The second covers orders from 24 to 29 September for all shops, except sellers in Sa Kaeo, Prachin Buri and Chanthaburi. The third covers those three provinces on their own.

The deadlines for each of these notices are published as images on that page, and this post does not restate them. Sellers in the listed provinces should open the notice for their own area in Seller Center.

The same page gives two instructions in more detail than the newspaper summary. A seller who cannot resume handling orders within the extended time should turn on Holiday Mode, which the page says temporarily stops new orders coming in until the shop is ready again. A shop that is still affected during the extension and receives a late dispatch rate or a seller-fault cancellation rate should submit evidence through TikTok Shop's appeal process.

The page also keeps an older notice for flooding in southern Thailand in November 2025, which included a fee waiver on some December 2025 orders. The text of the September 2026 notices, as far as it can be read outside the images, mentions no fee waiver.

Lazada: separate dates for platform logistics and delivered-by-seller

Lazada introduced a nationwide extension for orders placed from 24 to 30 September 2026, according to the Bangkok Post. Sellers using normal shipping providers, seller pick-up or drop-off have until 11.59pm on 1 October to fulfil eligible orders, and orders count as late from 2 October.

For delivered-by-seller orders, where the merchant handles the delivery, Lazada allowed a longer window: fulfilment until 11.59pm on 8 October, with late fulfilment counted from 9 October.

Lazada said temporary delivery delays in flood-affected areas would not affect a seller's fast fulfilment rate or cancellation rate. It encouraged affected merchants to use Holiday Mode, and said its logistics operations would be adjusted according to accessibility in flooded areas. The report does not define "eligible orders" beyond the order dates and delivery methods above.

The three shipping deadline extensions side by side

The table below puts the reported deadlines next to each other, using only the dates in the Bangkok Post report of 30 September 2026.

The three shipping deadline extensions side by side
PlatformOrders coveredExtended deadline
ShopeeStandard delivery, SPX drop-off and own fleet: orders not shipped by noon on 30 Sep30 Sep in general areas; 1 Oct in flood-affected areas; bulky items in affected areas 2 Oct
TikTok ShopOrders placed 24-29 Sep, nationwide28 Sep for orders of 24-25 Sep; 30 Sep for orders of 26-29 Sep
LazadaOrders placed 24-30 Sep, nationwide1 Oct, 11.59pm (normal providers, pick-up, drop-off); 8 Oct, 11.59pm (delivered by seller)

Two exceptions sit outside the table. Shopee's instant delivery keeps its normal schedule, and some Shopee express orders in affected areas have until 1 October.

What the performance protections cover

Each platform described its protection in different words, and they are worth reading literally rather than as one shared rule.

  • Shopee: orders shipped within the extended period are not treated as late shipments or failed orders, and penalty points received during the extension can be appealed.
  • TikTok Shop: affected sellers can appeal if problems persist. Its own policy page names the late dispatch rate and the seller-fault cancellation rate as the metrics to appeal, with evidence.
  • Lazada: temporary delivery delays in flood-affected areas will not affect the fast fulfilment rate or the cancellation rate.

Read as written, the three statements hang on different conditions. Shopee's protection is tied to shipping inside the extended window, so an order shipped after the extended date falls outside it. Lazada's statement is tied to delays in flood-affected areas. TikTok Shop's route, as its policy page describes it, runs through an appeal backed by evidence. None of the reports say whether any of these adjustments are applied automatically or only after a seller asks.

What the reports do not say

Several things a seller might reasonably want to know are missing from both the Bangkok Post report and TikTok Shop's page:

  • which areas Shopee and Lazada treat as flood-affected, since only TikTok Shop's page lists provinces;
  • whether Holiday Mode changes how a shop's listings appear in marketplace search, or whether it pauses paid on-platform advertising;
  • whether buyers are told about the delays, or whether buyer cancellation windows change;
  • how long an appeal takes on any of the three platforms.

If Holiday Mode's effect on listings or ads matters to your shop, check Seller Centre or ask the platform's seller support before switching it on. None of the sources address it, so any answer found elsewhere is a guess.

What sellers can check now

The checks below are general operational guidance built on the reported rules. They are not platform instructions, and each platform's seller centre remains the authority for individual orders.

  1. List open orders by platform, order date and delivery method, then match each order to its deadline in the table above. A shop on all three marketplaces can face five or more different dates.
  2. Keep Lazada delivered-by-seller orders apart from Lazada orders on platform logistics. The first group has until 8 October; the second had until 1 October.
  3. If stock, staff or couriers cannot reach orders before the relevant date, look at Holiday Mode, which all three platforms mentioned, and confirm what it does to your listings before turning it on.
  4. Keep dated records of the disruption, such as photos, courier notices or messages. TikTok Shop asks for evidence with appeals, and Shopee offers appeals for penalty points.
  5. Check performance metrics once the extensions end, and appeal any penalty that lands on an order inside a covered window.
  6. Review scheduled promotions, live-selling sessions and ad budgets while deliveries are disrupted. New orders placed after a covered window fall under normal deadlines unless a platform announces otherwise.

What this means for Thai marketers

For teams running marketplace campaigns, the main issue is operational. Paid traffic sent to a shop that cannot ship creates orders the extensions may not cover, because each extension applies to a fixed order window: orders unshipped at noon on 30 September for Shopee, orders placed up to 29 September for TikTok Shop's nationwide notice, and orders placed up to 30 September for Lazada. Nothing in the reports extends those windows further.

The sensible order of work is to confirm shipping capacity with operations before pushing traffic, to pause or re-time promotions where delivery is uncertain, and to keep campaign messaging away from the flood itself. People dealing with the water come first. The extensions exist so that sellers are not penalised for conditions they cannot control, and a campaign that adds unshippable orders works against that. Planning for e-commerce marketing across Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop during a disruption is mostly a question of matching spend to what can actually be delivered.

FAQ

Which orders does Lazada's flood extension cover?

Lazada's extension covers orders placed nationwide from 24 to 30 September 2026, according to the Bangkok Post. Sellers using normal shipping providers, pick-up or drop-off had until 11.59pm on 1 October, and delivered-by-seller orders have until 11.59pm on 8 October.

Does shipping within Shopee's extended deadline protect my shop's metrics?

Yes, Shopee said orders shipped within the extended period would not be treated as late shipments or failed orders. Sellers who receive penalty points during the extension can appeal, although the report does not describe the appeal process.

Is TikTok Shop's extension only for Bangkok?

No, the Bangkok Post reported a nationwide TikTok Shop extension for orders placed from 24 to 29 September 2026. TikTok Shop's own page also lists an updated notice for orders from 24 to 30 September for shops in 28 named provinces, and a separate notice for Sa Kaeo, Prachin Buri and Chanthaburi.

Does Holiday Mode affect my listings or ads?

The sources do not say. TikTok Shop's page says Holiday Mode temporarily stops new orders, but neither it nor the Bangkok Post report mentions search visibility or advertising, so check Seller Centre before switching it on.

Do I need to do anything to get the protection?

The reports do not say whether the protection is automatic. Shopee and TikTok Shop both describe appeals for penalties that land during the extension, and TikTok Shop asks for evidence, so keeping records of the disruption is the practical step.

The extensions are short and tied to specific order dates, and several have already passed. Sellers still holding delayed orders should work from the dates in their own seller centre, not from summaries.
