The Digital Marketing trend in the post-Covid-19 era is one of the things every marketer has to keep up with. You can see it from the online marketing statistics in every poll across today's marketing industry, which show that digital marketing is the top choice that Next-Gen businesses turn to when promoting their products. That is why doing SEO on point will save you time when promoting your brand.

These 13 tips that we have gathered to share with you will boost your SEO potential so it aligns with your content and makes it pop in true Next Gen style.

1. The truth that SEO people don't want to tell you

1. Content that doesn't match Search Intent may not make it to the first page.

2. Focusing on keywords that are too difficult is a waste of time! 3. A green light in the Yoast plugin doesn't mean your article is good enough.

4. Content length needs to be appropriate. Many people assume that the longer you write, the better, but content that is so long it becomes boring may not really answer the need. You should focus on the structure of the piece for completeness of content rather than writing endlessly.

5. People often think that using a brand name as the domain makes it easy to remember, but that doesn't serve the purpose as well as a domain that is easy to remember, which will help increase the likelihood of being searched for.

6. Social Signals are not that important for increasing Engagement.

2. 'Search Intent' the number one pillar of powerful SEO

If you can read the searcher's mind, you can land on the First Page easily, because Google wants searchers to find the information or what they are looking for exactly as they want it and as quickly as possible.

Doing SEO to rank on Google requires you to understand "Search Intent," or "the intention behind a search," which is the key reason behind the various forms of search queries people use on a Search Engine.

3. 'Title Tag' still matters in 2022

The Title Tag is still important for SEO. Even though in August 2021 Google announced that it would display Title Tags less and shift focus toward using text in other sections more, the reports we have gathered found that if you want your content to rank in Google searches, more than 66.6 percent of the time the Title Tag is still something marketers must pay attention to as before.

4. Dust off old content to make it pop again

Even if your website traffic was a Top Trend last year, don't forget that Google's rankings change all the time. So if we want to dust off old content we previously published and bring it back into the Trend again, we can start by using Google Search Console to see which content is high quality, with the following method:

  1. Go to the Search Results Report
  2. Click on Data Filter and select Compare Mode

3. Select 'Compare Last 6 Months to Previous Period'

4. Click Apply

5. Click 'Pages'

6. Sort by clicking 'Clicks Differences'

After that, let's observe which content we can refresh to make it pop again, and we must not forget that the Search Intent of the content still hasn't strayed from the original point. Then we will take the content data you want to refresh and use it further in the tools we have. For example, in Ahrefs the method is:

  1. Put the URL link into Ahrefs' Site Explorer
  2. Go to the Content Gap Report
  3. Add two or three URLs with similar rankings
  4. Click Show keywords

At this point you will have various keywords to choose from and apply to your dusty content to bring it back fresh and new again.

5. What are Internal Links? You need to use them well

Internal Links are links within our content whose job is to connect to other pages, which serve to build Traffic for the content and keep searchers interested and staying on our content page longer, and this has a direct effect on Google's rankings.

Here we will teach you how to create Internal Links using Link Opportunities in Ahrefs' Site Audit

1. Sign up to use Ahrefs Webmaster Tools (AWT)

2. Analyze your website through Site Audit

3. Go to the Link Opportunities Report

Once you reach this page you will see Source Pages, Target Pages, and Keywords that will keep suggesting a wide variety of Internal Links for you to choose from.

6. The searcher's first impression matters most

In 2022, Google updated its search ranking management based on Page Experience as follows:

  1. Core Web Vitals

Besides the content being the substantive core of the piece, the searcher having a good experience on the web page based on the download speed of the content, the responsiveness of the website, and the stability of the design on the web page is just as necessary. You can check this from the Core Web Vitals Report in Google Search Console or the Performance Report in Ahrefs' Site Audit

  1. HTTPS

Google supports and gives special privilege to the use of HTTPS for greater security.

  1. Absence of Intrusive Interstitials

If you have ever searched for something on a web page and had to deal with a big pop-up coming in to block the main content, don't forget that you must always let users find the content they are searching for easily.

Page Experience, although it is one of a hundred factors that will increase your content's Engagement, is still considered an important part you must not neglect if you want your content to land on the Top Rank page.

7. Don't forget to add a 'Frequently Asked Questions' (FAQ) section

When searching on various Search Engines, we often see related questions popping up in the People Also Ask box. Of course, our content can't answer every question, so the way to help solve this is that we can search for the most frequently asked questions in Keywords Explorer. After that, your content should always have a frequently asked questions section at the end. Just this will help make your content higher quality.

8. Google always likes 'trustworthy content'

Don't leave loopholes in your content. This is what Google expects when selecting and ranking content. We have two techniques that will make Google hit the share button for your content.

  1. The E-A-T technique, or Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trust, which literally translates to expertise, authoritativeness, and trust, because Google always likes content that is developed correctly and is trustworthy.

2. Being cited, meaning the content is shared across various Social Media channels, certainly confirms that this is quality and trustworthy content.

9. Position '0' in search results: getting to know "Featured Snippets"

If you try typing a search for something and see a small rectangular text box at the very top with a short accompanying description, where you get the answer immediately without even having to click in, this is a Featured Snippet.

For example, you can find keywords that are in the Top 10 of Google's Featured Snippets on Ahrefs' Site Explorer as follows:

1. Enter your Domain

2. Go to the Organic report

3. Select Filter for Keywords ranked #1 – 10

4. Use the SERP filter

But don't forget that we can never know whether your website or content will rank in position 0, because Google's system selects it itself. The only thing we can do is prepare our content or website to be perfect at all times.

10. Don't forget! Add color and include images

If you have a nice Infographic or images, don't forget to add them in, and the important thing is not to forget to credit the source of the image, graphic, or video as well.

11. Good Backlinks must always be fresh and new!

Many people like to think that putting lots of Backlinks into content will make Google see our content as trustworthy, but on the contrary, if you use low-quality Backlinks that lack updates, no matter how many Backlinks you add it will be useless.

But don't worry! We have steps to fix dead Backlinks in our content and bring them back again (the example uses Ahrefs' tools)

1. Analyze your website with Ahrefs' Site Audit

2. Go to the Internal Pages report

3. Click '404 page'

4. Sort from high to low in the No. of referring domains column

5. After that, go in and fix the dead links

12. Quality Backlinks make Traffic pop even more

More than 90% of websites that have no Traffic, or no visitors coming in to view them, are that way because they have no Backlinks. This shows that Backlinks are one of the top factors Google values, because having Backlinks in content is comparable to applying for a job and having someone give you a reference. The more famous or expert the person giving the reference is, the greater our chances of getting the job. Likewise, if the Backlinks in our content are of high quality, the more Google will see our content as high quality.

13. Inspect your content with a Content Audit

This is an inspection of all the content we have published within the website, using various tools to help analyze all the data to decide what to do next with each article on the website. For example, tools that most SEO people use include Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, and so on.
