TikTok has put a standalone TikTok Shop shopping app on the App Store and Google Play in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines; no announcement had been found as of 6 November 2026. Apple's Thai App Store lists the app as "The official TikTok Shop app" from provider TIKTOK PTE. LTD., first released on 27 October 2026 and updated to version 45.5.5 on 5 November 2026. The listing promises LIVE and short-video shopping plus "app-only deals, free shipping offers & exclusive first-order benefits". TechCrunch reported on 5 November 2026 that TikTok did not respond to its request for comment, so there is no official word yet on seller terms, ads or affiliate commissions inside the new app.

What the Thai App Store listing shows

The TikTok Shop listing on Apple's Thai App Store, checked on 6 November 2026, names the developer as TikTok Ltd. and the provider as TIKTOK PTE. LTD. It sits in the Shopping category, is free with in-app purchases, is built for iPhone only, requires iOS 14.0 or later and carries a 13+ age rating. The download size is 809.8 MB. The app supports English and 51 more languages, Thai among them. On the day it was checked, the listing showed the app at No. 55 in the Shopping chart, with a single 5-star rating and one review written in Thai.

Apple's store data gives the dates. The app was first released on 27 October 2026. The version history shows 45.5.1 on 28 October and 45.5.5 on 5 November 2026, both with the release note "Squashed bugs for better experience." That first-release date is nine days before the first press reports on 5 November; Apple's data does not show when the app became available in Thailand specifically.

What the app description promises

The description opens "Welcome to the official TikTok Shop app, powered by TikTok" and lists five reasons to use it:

  • personalised picks based on the user's interests
  • LIVE streams and short videos that show products in use
  • app-only deals, free shipping offers and exclusive first-order benefits
  • secure payments at checkout
  • order tracking and 24/7 support from purchase to delivery

The listing gives a support address, tiktokshopservice@tiktok.com. It does not name any specific deal, discount size, shipping threshold or end date for the first-order offer.

In-app purchases and the privacy label

The Thai listing shows in-app purchases priced as coin packs, from 21 coins for ฿15 up to 17,500 coins for ฿8,550. The listing does not say what the coins are used for in this app.

Apple's privacy section, which Apple notes has not been verified by Apple, says the developer indicated that identifiers may be used to track users across apps and websites owned by other companies. Data linked to the user may be used for the developer's own advertising or marketing, including coarse location, physical address, email address, phone number and user ID. For product personalisation the label lists purchase history, precise and coarse location, contacts, search history and product interaction. In short, the developer's own disclosure says purchase and search history in the app can be used for product personalisation, while contact details, coarse location and user ID can be used for the developer's own advertising or marketing.

The Android version

The Google Play listing (package com.ttshopapp.shop), viewed from Thailand, carries the same description, names TikTok Pte. Ltd. as developer and showed an "updated on" date of 29 October 2026. It displayed 50K+ downloads and a 4.8 rating from 223 reviews; Google Play does not say how many of those downloads came from Thailand. In its data safety section the developer states that no data is shared with third parties and that data is encrypted in transit.

How the launch came to light

TechCrunch reporter Aisha Malik wrote on 5 November 2026 that TikTok had "quietly launched" the app in select markets as it expands its e-commerce plans, and that the app was first spotted by social media consultant Matt Navarra. TechCrunch listed the same features as the store description and said it was unknown whether TikTok plans a wider release, including in the United States.

Engadget, also on 5 November 2026, described the app as a streamlined version of the existing shopping platform and said it had asked the company about a US launch. It noted that TikTok's American business is run by a different company from global TikTok. Tubefilter reported the same four markets the same day and said the app launched "with little fanfare".

TechCrunch placed the app inside TikTok's wider push beyond social media, noting that the company has added games, restaurant guides, sports hubs, hotel booking and microdramas, and is exploring payments. It also framed the app as a mirror image of Amazon's Inspire, the short-video feed Amazon built to keep shoppers away from TikTok.

The market context the press reported

What's Trending, writing on 5 November 2026, cited estimates from research firm Momentum Works: TikTok Shop's Southeast Asian sales doubled to about $45.6 billion in 2025, roughly 71 percent of its $64.3 billion global total, while Shopee still led the region with about $83.2 billion, or roughly 53 percent of the market. The same article cited Momentum Works and Tabcut figures showing that in the first half of 2026 the Shop tab inside TikTok drove 51.4 percent of attributed US TikTok Shop sales, against 40.4 percent for videos and 8.2 percent for LIVE. Those US figures are not Thai data, but they describe the shift the new app formalises: more buying happening in a store-like surface rather than in the feed.

What's Trending also pointed out that Indonesia, which Momentum Works ranked as TikTok Shop's second-largest market in 2025, is not a launch country. Indonesia banned transactions on social platforms in 2023, and TikTok returned there through its purchase of a 75.01 percent stake in Tokopedia. Tubefilter cited an unnamed estimate that Southeast Asian e-commerce will generate $226 billion in gross merchandise value in 2026.

These figures are third-party estimates reported by the outlets named. TikTok has not published Thai-specific sales or download numbers for the new app.

What TikTok has not said

Because TikTok has not commented publicly, several questions that matter to Thai sellers have no official answer yet:

  • whether TikTok Shop ads, including GMV Max campaigns, will serve inside the standalone app, and how its traffic will be reported in Seller Center
  • which deals count as "app-only", who funds them, and whether sellers can opt in or out
  • whether affiliate creator commissions work the same way when a buyer purchases in the new app after watching a video in the main TikTok app
  • whether search ranking, reviews and shop pages in the new app follow the same rules as the Shop tab
  • whether the app will roll out beyond the four markets

What's Trending made the same point about affiliates, writing that TikTok has not said whose content the app will surface or whether creator commissions work the same way across two apps. Until TikTok publishes seller guidance, any claim about ranking or ad changes in the new app is speculation.

How this fits RA's earlier TikTok Shop coverage

On 2 November 2026 Relevant Audience reported that Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop will charge eligible Thai sellers their 1 January 2026 mandatory fee rates from 1 December 2026 to 31 May 2027, with ad and promotion fees excluded. On 5 November 2026 it covered TikTok Shop's Brand LIVE Impact metric in US Seller Center. On 15 September 2026 it reported a TikTok-commissioned Ipsos study that found 94 percent of Thai TikTok shoppers buy during Mega Sales. What is new here is the channel itself: Thai shoppers now have a separate TikTok Shop app, with incentives designed to move purchases into it, arriving just before the 11.11 and 12.12 sales.

What this means for Thai marketers

The points below are analysis, not statements from TikTok or the outlets cited.

A standalone shopping app changes the job of the listing. Inside the main TikTok app, most buyers arrive from a video or LIVE. In an app opened with the intent to shop, product titles, images, reviews, price and search visibility carry more weight, which is how Shopee and Lazada already work. Sellers who have relied on creator videos alone should check that their product pages would convert a shopper who has not seen the video.

"App-only deals" and first-order benefits are an acquisition tool for TikTok. For brands, the open question is margin: if TikTok asks sellers to co-fund those offers, the fee relief reported on 2 November may be partly absorbed. Read any new campaign invitations in Seller Center closely before 11.11.

Measurement may get messier. If a buyer watches a creator video in the main app and checks out in the standalone app, attribution depends on how TikTok links the two. Watch for changes in the order source breakdown in Seller Center over the coming weeks, and compare affiliate-attributed GMV before and after the app's 27 October release.

A practical checklist for this month:

  1. Install the app on a Thai iPhone or Android device and search for your own brand and top products to see how the shop and listings appear.
  2. Check whether your products show any app-only price or first-order offer, and whether you agreed to it.
  3. Review product titles and main images for search, not just for the feed.
  4. Ask your TikTok Shop account manager, if you have one, for written guidance on ads, affiliate tracking and app-only deals.
  5. Keep a dated record of GMV by channel so any shift after the launch can be measured.

FAQ

Is the TikTok Shop app available in Thailand?
