TikTok Shop's new off-site sales report measures Shopify and DTC revenue but excludes Amazon, Walmart and offline stores

TikTok Shop published documentation on 6 August 2026 for an Off-site Performance Analysis report that measures whether TikTok Shop and TikTok Ads activity drives sales on a seller's own website. The report covers direct-to-consumer and Shopify storefronts only, and explicitly excludes Amazon, Walmart and offline sales channels.

Sellers have argued for years that TikTok drives revenue the platform never gets credit for. This puts a number on it. Two caveats decide how much that number is worth.

The three metrics in TikTok Shop's Off-site Performance Analysis report

The documentation TikTok Shop published on 6 August 2026 defines three metrics. Off-site GMV counts revenue from transactions completed on the seller's own website by users who previously clicked or viewed TikTok ecommerce content. TTS GMV counts gross merchandise value generated inside TikTok Shop over the same period. Off-site Effect is the ratio between them, off-site GMV divided by TTS GMV.

The ratio is the number worth reporting upward. A seller whose Off-site Effect runs above 1 is producing more revenue on their own site from TikTok exposure than inside the TikTok Shop storefront, a business case TikTok Shop dashboards could not previously support.

Here is how TikTok Shop's documentation defines each metric.

The three metrics in TikTok Shop's Off-site Performance Analysis report
MetricWhat TikTok Shop's 6 August 2026 documentation says it measures
Off-site GMVRevenue from transactions completed on the seller's own website by users who previously clicked or viewed TikTok ecommerce content
TTS GMVGross merchandise value generated inside TikTok Shop over the same period
Off-site EffectThe ratio between the two, off-site GMV divided by TTS GMV

What the report requires: the TikTok Pixel and nine commerce events

TikTok Shop's 6 August 2026 documentation states the report only produces data where the TikTok Pixel is installed through Events Manager in TikTok Ads Manager. It lists nine commerce events the pixel tracks: "View Content, Add to Cart, Initiate Checkout, Add Payment Info, Complete Payment, Search, Add to Wishlist, Complete Registration, and Subscribe."

Complete Payment is the event the revenue figure rests on. A pixel firing View Content and Add to Cart but missing Complete Payment will return an Off-site GMV that understates reality, and the report presents that as a result rather than flagging it as a gap. Checking the event map before reading the numbers is what separates a measurement from a guess.

Why the reported Off-site Effect is a floor rather than a total

TikTok Shop's documentation states the report excludes Amazon, Walmart and offline sales channels. Any seller with meaningful marketplace or retail volume is therefore reading a partial figure, and the size of the gap is not trivial. PPC Land, reporting on the documentation, cited June 2026 research from the measurement firm Incremental that found siloed retail media attribution missed between 36% and 53% of total campaign impact across four networks, rising to between 67% and 80% for off-site video. The report is at PPC Land.

The practical reading is that Off-site Effect is a lower bound on TikTok's off-platform contribution, not a measurement of it. That is still better than the zero most TikTok Shop reporting has carried for off-platform sales, but it should not be presented internally as the full picture when a brand also sells through marketplaces or physical retail.

The attribution change that breaks period-over-period comparisons

TikTok also changed its GMV attribution logic to prioritise livestream and short video touchpoints rather than last exposure. PPC Land reported that the change is not retroactive: historical data keeps the previous methodology, so two periods sitting next to each other in the same dashboard can be measured different ways.

That makes any movement spanning the change something other than performance. Treat the switch as a break in the series, stop reporting comparisons across it, and rebuild trend baselines once there is enough post-change data to stand on its own.

What this means for Thai marketers

The documentation does not state which markets the report is available in, so the honest answer for Thai sellers is to check availability inside their own TikTok Shop and Ads Manager accounts rather than assume it. The pixel requirement is the part worth acting on either way, because a TikTok Pixel that fires Complete Payment correctly is a prerequisite for this report and for most other TikTok measurement.

The exclusion list also reads differently here. Thai ecommerce leans on marketplaces that this report does not cover at all, so a seller whose volume sits mostly outside a Shopify or direct-to-consumer storefront will see very little in it. The work that pays off is aligning the pixel and the site with the reporting definitions before the report is switched on. That is the same groundwork behind TikTok advertising that reports honestly, a clean analytics setup to check the platform's numbers against, and ecommerce marketing that knows which channel earned the sale.

Questions marketers are asking about the off-site report

Does this report work for TikTok Shop sellers in Thailand?

The source does not say which markets have access, so availability has to be checked inside your own TikTok Shop and TikTok Ads Manager accounts. The documentation describes the report itself, not a market-by-market rollout.

Does the report count Amazon or Walmart sales?

No. TikTok Shop's documentation states the report excludes Amazon, Walmart and offline sales channels, and covers only direct-to-consumer and Shopify storefronts.

What has to be installed before the report shows anything?

The TikTok Pixel, installed through Events Manager in TikTok Ads Manager. The documentation lists nine commerce events the pixel tracks, including Complete Payment, which is the one the revenue metric depends on.

Is Off-site Effect a measure of incrementality?

The documentation describes Off-site Effect as the ratio of off-site GMV to TTS GMV, and does not describe it as an incrementality measurement. It shows the relative size of off-platform sales against TikTok Shop sales, which is a different question from what those sales would have been without TikTok.

Reading the first report without overclaiming

Before the first number goes into a deck, confirm the pixel fires Complete Payment, note which sales channels sit outside the report, and mark where the attribution change falls in the date range. With those notes attached, Off-site Effect becomes a usable floor for what TikTok content contributes off platform.
