TL;DR

  • Meta Verified for business is a paid, auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription that gives a verified badge plus benefits such as impersonation protection and account support.
  • Meta says plans and availability vary by region and account, and it may change prices with at least 30 days' notice of an increase, so check the price shown at sign-up.
  • Meta's subscription terms do not mention the ad auction, ad delivery or ad accounts, so there is no Meta statement that the badge makes ads cheaper.
  • Applicants need a Business Portfolio with Advanced Protection on, complete profiles and an eligible country; verification may take up to three business days.
  • Free selfie-based Facebook Verified gives individuals a badge and excludes Pages, and business verification in Business Suite gives no badge at all.

Meta Verified is a paid subscription from Meta for businesses and creators. Once verification is complete, the subscribed Facebook Page, Instagram professional account or WhatsApp Business account gets a verified badge plus at least one other benefit, such as impersonation protection, access to account support, or increased visibility on some surfaces. The price is not one global figure; the price that applies to your account is shown in the app or in Meta Business Suite when you sign up.

"Verified" on Facebook now covers several things with similar names: a paid subscription, a free selfie-based badge, a badge for notable people and brands, and business verification in Business Suite, which gives no badge at all. This article separates them, and covers what each one gives you, how to sign up, and whether it is worth it for a Thai brand.

What Meta Verified for business is, and what it costs

According to Meta's terms for Meta Verified for businesses, it is a paid, auto-renewing subscription with monthly or annual plans. The subscriber is a business with a Business Portfolio in Meta Business Suite, which then chooses which assets to verify, such as a Facebook Page or an Instagram professional account.

On price, three points can be confirmed from Meta's own documents.

  • Meta says plans, benefits and availability may vary by region, by app and by account, so the price someone sees in another country may not match yours.
  • Meta reserves the right to change the price from time to time and says it gives at least 30 days' notice of a price increase.
  • The terms say all purchases are non-refundable except where the law or specific provisions of the terms require otherwise. Purchases through Apple or Google follow those platforms' billing terms.

This article therefore gives no baht price, because the figure for your account only appears in the sign-up flow. Before confirming, check whether the price shown is monthly or annual, whether tax is included, and which asset you are subscribing, because benefits apply only to the subscribed profile.

One more thing: Meta has another business subscription called Meta One. Meta's help page for Meta One says it is currently in limited testing and isn't available everywhere yet, and that eligible subscribers can also receive a verified badge. If you see an offer by that name in your account, read its terms separately.

What you get: blue tick, support, protection against fake pages

Meta's terms for businesses say subscribers get a verified badge plus one or more of the benefits below. Meta notes that benefits may change over time and that some are not available on every platform.

What you get: blue tick, support, protection against fake pages
BenefitWhat it means in practiceLimits to know
Verified badge (blue tick)Shows Meta has checked that the business really owns the Page or accountOnly after verification completes, and tied to the subscribed asset
Impersonation protectionMeta proactively monitors for accounts pretending to be your brandNo guarantee that every fake page disappears
Account supportA route to a support team for problems with the subscribed accountApplies only to the subscribed profile
Prioritisation and increased visibilityPossibly more visibility on some surfaces of the appMeta says this varies with factors such as audience size and post topic

For most brands the first two are the real reasons to subscribe. The badge helps customers tell the real Page from look-alike names, and impersonation monitoring takes some load off admins who otherwise report fake pages by hand. Treat visibility as an uncertain side effect, not a reason to buy.

The terms also contain a condition many people miss. While subscribed, you cannot change the business contact details or the information linked to the verified asset. To change them you must cancel and resubscribe. A business about to rebrand or rename its Page should finish that first.

Does it improve your ads?

The straight answer: Meta does not say Meta Verified makes ads perform better. The programme's terms do not mention the ad auction, ad delivery, ad accounts or ads support at all. The visibility benefit they describe concerns the profile on some surfaces, and Meta itself writes that results vary.

Facebook and Instagram ad results still depend on the same things: the offer, the creative, the audience, the campaign objective, and the quality of conversion signals from the Pixel or Conversions API. If you are considering the subscription in the hope of a lower CPM or higher ROAS, no Meta document supports that expectation.

A plausible indirect effect is that when someone sees an ad and taps through to the Page, the badge may reassure them they are in the right place, especially in categories with many fake pages. That effect is hard to measure and Meta publishes no figures you can cite. If you want to know whether it matters for your business, compare chat-start or conversion rates on an unchanged campaign before and after the badge appears, without changing other variables in the same period, and accept that a before-and-after comparison always has other factors mixed in.

How to sign up, and the conditions

Meta's terms set conditions at three levels: the Business Portfolio, the applicant, and the assets being verified.

Business Portfolio and applicant conditions

  • An existing Business Portfolio in Meta Business Suite that meets minimum asset ownership requirements.
  • No more than Meta's maximum number of users with access to the Portfolio.
  • Advanced Protection turned on for the Portfolio and for all its users, where applicable.
  • Minimum account activity, and limited recent account changes such as name changes.
  • An applicant aged 18 or over, or the local age of majority, in a country where Meta Verified is offered.

Conditions for the assets being verified

  • A Facebook Page needs a complete profile, meaning profile picture, cover photo and category, and must comply with Facebook's terms and Community Standards.
  • An Instagram account must be a professional account with a complete profile, including photo and category.
  • A WhatsApp account needs a complete business profile, a number registered with the WhatsApp Business app, and enough account tenure and activity.

The process in outline

  1. Complete the profile and confirm the Page name will not change soon.
  2. Turn on Advanced Protection in the Business Portfolio and have every user complete the setup it asks for.
  3. Open the Meta Verified offer in Meta Business Suite or in the settings of the eligible Page or Instagram account. If the account does not qualify yet, or the country is not offered, the offer may not appear.
  4. Choose the plan and billing period, and check the displayed price before confirming.
  5. Submit the verification details requested. The terms say verification may take up to three business days, and longer at busy times.

Benefits only start once verification is complete. If verification is not completed in the stated window, the terms say the subscription is cancelled and the first payment returned. If you cancel yourself, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term, and you may not get a refund for the remaining period.

How it differs from free, selfie-based Facebook Verified

There are three kinds of verified badge on Facebook, and a fourth process, business verification, that people often confuse with them.

How it differs from free, selfie-based Facebook Verified
TypeWho gets it and howCost
Meta VerifiedBusinesses or creators who subscribe and pass verification get a blue badge plus benefitsPaid, monthly or annual
Facebook VerifiedIndividual users confirm a real person is behind a profile with a video selfie check and get a badge; Pages and ProMode accounts are excludedFree
Notable verificationMust be authentic, unique, complete and well known across several news sources; ads and paid content do not countNo fee to apply, but criteria must be met
Business verification in Business SuiteConfirms the business exists legally and unlocks some business featuresFree, and gives no badge

Meta announced selfie-based Facebook Verified on 24 July 2026, saying it would roll out in some markets first without naming them, starting on Marketplace, Dating profiles, groups and user profiles. The point for brands is that Pages are not eligible, because it verifies a person, not a business. A brand that wants a badge on its Page has two routes: paid Meta Verified, or notable verification if the brand meets the criteria.

Business verification in Business Suite is a step many businesses have already completed to use features such as the WhatsApp Business Platform or permission management. Meta states clearly that it is different from Meta Verified and does not give a badge.

What to consider in the Thai market

The terms say it may not be available in all regions or to all businesses within a region. The reliable check for a Thai business is to log in to Meta Business Suite as an admin and see whether the offer appears.

When a business sells through chat on Messenger, Instagram Direct or LINE, customers have to decide who they are transferring money to. If a page with your brand's name and photos messages customers first, the damage lands on the customer and on the brand's reputation. The badge helps here, but customers need to know what to look for. Telling them in a pinned post or an automated reply what the real Page's badge and name look like does more than the badge alone.

Team access is the other issue. The requirement to turn on Advanced Protection for every user, and the cap on users in the Portfolio, can affect businesses where many staff or several agencies share one Business Portfolio. Before signing up, review the user list and remove people who no longer work with you. That is worth doing anyway for the security of the ad account.

Is it worth it for a brand?

It depends on whether your business has a problem Meta Verified solves. Use this list to decide.

  • Likely worth it if fake pages regularly impersonate the brand, customers pay through chat, or you have had a locked account with nobody to contact.
  • Likely worth it if the brand is known enough to attract copycats but does not meet the notable verification criteria.
  • Not needed yet if the only reason is cheaper ads or more reach, because Meta does not say the programme affects ads.
  • Wait if you are about to change the Page name or contact details, because you cannot change them while subscribed without cancelling.

An honest limit: a badge does not stop every determined scammer, and benefits may change, as Meta reserves the right to do. Basic account hygiene, such as two-factor authentication on every account and limited admin roles, still has to be done after you subscribe.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Meta Verified cost in Thailand?

The price for your account is shown in the app or in Meta Business Suite when you sign up, because Meta says plans and availability vary by region and account. Meta also reserves the right to change prices, with at least 30 days' notice of an increase.

Does Meta Verified make Facebook ads cheaper?

Meta does not say Meta Verified affects the ad auction or ad delivery, and the programme's terms do not mention ads at all. Ad results still depend on the offer, creative, audience and conversion signals.

Can a business Page get the free Facebook Verified badge?

No, selfie-based Facebook Verified confirms a real person behind an individual profile, and Meta says Pages are not eligible. A Page that wants a badge needs Meta Verified or must meet the notable verification criteria.

Does business verification in Business Suite give a blue tick?

No, Meta states that business verification in Meta Business Suite is different from Meta Verified and does not give a verified badge.

How long does it take to get the badge after subscribing?

The terms say verification may take up to three business days, and longer at busy times. Benefits start once verification is complete.

A badge helps with trust, but ad results still come from campaign planning and creative. If you want a team to run your Meta advertising, see Facebook Ads management, Instagram ads or social media advertising.
