For those who follow news in the social media platform, you may have heard about the launch of Twitter’s Campaign Planner feature in mid-2022. This tool has been tested for more than 6 months to help marketers plan advertising strategies on the platform more effectively. On its launch day, it was only available to partners in some countries, such as certain users in the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan, who were able to try it out first.
However, in the latest announcement, Twitter is expanding the Campaign Planner tool to another 15 countries worldwide, allowing marketers to use it more seriously. In this article, we will introduce everyone to the Campaign Planner tool to prepare for its future use. What are the details? Let Relevant Audience dive in.
Campaign Planner: A Tool Marketers Must Know
Campaign Planner is a tool designed to help predict campaign results before launching them on the platform. It uses various assessment tools based on metrics such as Reach, Impression, Average Frequency, and other objectives selected. It can also set additional settings to match the designed campaign, such as budget and target audience. Once everything is set up, just let the tool predict the results. This data does not mean that the campaign will go exactly as predicted 100%, but it is a good indicator to evaluate and plan advertising campaigns to be as effective as possible before running them.
How to Use Campaign Planner
For anyone who wants to try using the Campaign Planner tool but doesn’t know where to start, Relevant Audience will tell you how:
Step 1: Activate Campaign Planner To activate Campaign Planner in Twitter Ads, go to the Campaign menu in the upper left corner, then select “Campaign Planner”.
Step 2: Choose Objective and Budget as Needed Then, when entering the Campaign Planner page, the tool will have a window for users to set the desired Objective, such as Reach, View, and others. Then, on the right side in the Plan Forecast section, enter the desired budget.
Step 3: Set the Start/End Date and Time of the Campaign Select the date and time to align with the campaign run requirements. The Campaign Planner tool will support predicting results for campaigns with a duration of at least 3 days (72 hours) or more.
Step 4: Set Frequency Cap Level Next is setting the Frequency Cap, which will help control the number of times people see the campaign throughout the campaign run period. You can choose from 1 day, 7 days, and 30 days.
Step 5: Choose Placement Next is choosing the placement where the ad will be displayed. You can choose according to your needs, whether it’s on the Home Timeline, Profiles pages, Search Results pages, and Replies pages.
Step 6: Define Demographics Select the desired demographic information. You can choose gender, age range, location, and language. Details are as follows:
- Choose Operating System, Device Model This defines whether the campaign will reach groups of people using specific operating systems, device models, and service providers.
- Choose Audience Group Define the audience group, which can be created as a Custom Audience or from existing data from Website Activity, App Activity, or other App Activity Audiences.
- Adjust Targeting Feature You can add more details about the target group, whether it’s Keywords, Follower Look alikes, Interests, Conversation Topics, etc.
- Predict Results in Plan Forecast The Plan Forecast section will display a timeline of campaign predictions based on user settings. You can choose to view details in various sections, such as budget used, Reach prediction, percentage of Target Audience, CPM, Average Frequency, Impressions, etc.
Campaign Planner Now Available in Another 15 Countries
As mentioned earlier, when it was launched, Twitter made it available only to certain groups in certain countries, such as the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan. But recently, Twitter announced that Campaign Planner is now available to marketers in another 15 countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and Thailand. This brings the total number of countries worldwide that can use this advertising campaign prediction feature to 18.
