Microsoft Ads has officially announced several new features as part of its December 2022 update, ranging from the launch of new features currently in Beta Testing and features set to arrive in the future, to improvements that make existing features more effective, plus the discontinuation of certain features.

As a good marketer, even though you may use advertising tools on the Google side such as Google Ads, considering additional channels like Microsoft Ads is another option you simply cannot afford to overlook. So if anyone has the kind of mindset that says ”I’m satisfied with what I already have” to the point where it leads you to miss out on keeping up with the latest news and staying current with the world, please shut down that way of thinking right now, because in this article we’ll introduce everyone to the new features Microsoft Ads has added. If you’re ready, let’s dive in.

4 Features Now Officially Available

  1. Auto Generated Remarketing lists feature

This is a feature that helps create Remarketing Lists automatically, allowing you to run campaigns efficiently through Microsoft Search and Microsoft’s other Audience Networks. Microsoft claims it can help increase CTR (Click Through Rate) by up to 67% and reduce CPA costs by 11%.

  1. Ad Schedule feature

Marketers can now use Ad Schedule together with a new Calendar View. This is a redesigned dashboard page where marketers can view the schedules for running various campaigns with a much clearer overall picture.

  1. Expanded coverage for ads in the accommodation and hotel category

Microsoft Ads has expanded the scope of ad placements beyond Bing Maps to other networks, whether it’s displaying on Microsoft Bing SERPs, Microsoft Bing Images, Microsoft Videos, and Microsoft BIng Travel.

  1. Flyer Extension feature

Anyone who uses Google Ads is probably familiar with Ads Extensions, which act as add-ons that help make ads more complete. Microsoft Ads is not to be outdone, offering the Flyer Extension feature that displays additional images for Text Ads, and in the future it will also be usable with Shopping Ads.

Features in Beta Testing

Coming Soon

Microsoft Ads is planning an update to make the Asset Library more convenient to work with, introducing new functionality that helps users organize their various data more effectively.

Discontinued Features

Microsoft has discontinued the Auto-apply APIs feature for Campaign & Bulk APIs, due to the fact that back in May 2022, Google launched the Ad Insights API to replace it, with the aim of delivering better operational performance.

Final Thoughts

And that wraps up our deep dive into Microsft Ads’ updates in the final month of 2022. We’ll have to keep watching to see what impressive things Microsoft Ads will bring out to attract brands and marketers as we move into 2023.
