New IG Feature: Automatically Turn Video Posts into Reels

Recently, Instagram, the popular social media platform, has rolled out additional new features for Instagram Reels to help marketers and creators produce a wider variety of content more effectively. The newly added features include Remixes, Templates, turning video posts into Reels, and Reels Ads. Curious about the details of this update? Video content enthusiasts won't want to miss it. 1. The Remixes Feature

Previously, Instagram had been testing a Remix option on Reels with a select group of users. Now, the platform has rolled out this feature for everyone to use in full. The Remixes feature added to Reels lets users react to other people's clips by playing the original video content alongside the new remixed clip side by side. For anyone who can't quite picture it, it's similar to the Duet feature on a competitor like TikTok.

This feature helps marketers and creators produce a wider variety of content without having to worry about relying solely on Original Content.

2. The New Templates Feature

The Templates feature allows creators and marketers to build various templates that help make video content on IG Reels look more varied.

3. Turning Video Posts into Reels

This new feature automatically converts all video posts shorter than 15 minutes into Reels video clips. However, users don't need to worry about whether their old video posts will be turned into Reels, because this feature only applies to new video posts. Of course, the existing Video tab on the profile page will be automatically merged into the Reels tab.

4. The Reels Ads Feature

This is surely another feature that brands and marketers have been waiting for, after Instagram previously opened it up to a select group of users for testing. Reels Ads will have a format similar to TikTok Ads, appearing as short video clips inserted in between clips as users keep scrolling through, with a label below indicating that it's an advertisement.

In addition, Instagram also allows users to use the Boosts Reels Ads feature to expand reach to various target audiences through placements across the main feed, Stories, and even the Explore Tab, helping to drive even more Engagement.
