Meta's Graph API v26.0 blocks 47 commerce endpoints with no replacement

Meta's Graph API v26.0 took effect on 29 July 2026 and blocked 47 Commerce Order Management endpoints with no replacement. PPC Land reported the release on 30 July 2026 in an article by Luis Rijo, which also documented three removed delivery-forecasting fields, two eliminated placements, a block on new poll creatives, and an expansion of WhatsApp Status ads.

Meta blocked 47 commerce endpoints when v26.0 landed on 29 July 2026

The 47 blocked endpoints belong to Commerce Order Management, and they covered order retrieval, line items, payment records, refunds, shipment tracking and tax settings. Meta shipped no replacement for any of them, which is worth stating plainly: this is a removal, not a migration.

The reason sits in a product decision Meta already made. Those endpoints served the discontinued Facebook and Instagram Shops checkout experience, so they were plumbing for a checkout flow that no longer exists. Anything a merchant or middleware vendor built on top of them stops returning data.

Three delivery-forecasting fields were removed with no successor

Meta removed daily_outcomes_curve, budget_guardrail and estimate_dau in Graph API v26.0 on 29 July 2026, and PPC Land reported that the underlying service powering those fields had been deprecated. There is no successor field to swap in.

These are the fields that let a tool preview how a budget would translate into outcomes before a campaign ran. If a media-planning dashboard shows a delivery curve or a reachable-audience estimate pulled from the API, that number now comes from a source Meta switched off.

Instagram Explore Feed and Messenger Stories left the placement list on 29 July 2026

Meta eliminated the Instagram Explore Feed placement entirely in v26.0, and placements now default to other eligible surfaces rather than erroring. Messenger Stories was removed from messenger_positions on v26.0 and above without an announcement, although historical data may still display it in reporting.

The silent removal is the awkward part: a placement that still shows up in old reporting rows but can no longer be targeted reads as a live option to anyone rebuilding a template from last quarter's exports.

Poll creatives can still be edited, but new ones are blocked

Meta blocked the creation of new poll creatives in Graph API v26.0 on 29 July 2026 while leaving updates to existing poll ads working. Campaigns already running on poll units keep functioning and remain editable; the format is closed to anything new.

WhatsApp Status ads went the other way and expanded

WhatsApp Status ads gained capability in v26.0 rather than losing it. Meta added a required wamo_whatsapp_identity_spec field for third-party callers, carousel support of up to 10 cards, and a user_age_unknown parameter that defaults to true when it is not set. Conversion optimisation for the format was expanded to the Sales, Leads and Engagement objectives.

The required identity field matters most to teams calling the API through a partner platform, because a missing required field fails the call outright.

Special Ad Categories now need an explicit advantage_audience value

Meta made advantage_audience an explicit setting, 0 or 1, for constrained audience setups in the Special Ad Categories: Housing, Employment and Financial Products. The requirement applies at ad set creation only, so existing ad sets are not retro-fitted. Regulated verticals tend to have the tightest automation around ad set creation, which makes this the change most likely to break a script quietly.

The deadlines that decide when this reaches your account

PPC Land published the deprecation calendar alongside the v26.0 changes, and it is the part worth pinning to a wall, because it converts an API release into fixed dates.

The deadlines that decide when this reaches your account
DateWhat happens
29 July 2026Graph API v26.0 takes effect, with 47 commerce endpoints blocked and the forecasting fields removed
24 September 2026Graph API v20.0 is deprecated
27 October 2026The v26.0 changes extend to all remaining supported versions
21 January 2027Graph API v21.0 is deprecated

Staying on an older API version does not avoid any of this. It defers the v26.0 changes until 27 October 2026, and then they arrive anyway. Anything built on the commerce or forecasting endpoints breaks on a calendar, not on a judgement call.

What this means for Thai marketers

PPC Land's report does not mention Thailand, so the local read is reasoning rather than something Meta or the outlet said. Exposure follows the stack: Thai social commerce leaning on Facebook and Instagram Shops tooling, order syncing or middleware pulling order data through the Graph API is where a removal with no replacement bites, and 27 October 2026 removes the option of waiting.

Teams running LINE-first commerce stacks with Meta used mainly for paid social acquisition are less exposed, because the blocked endpoints are order-management plumbing rather than ad delivery. Even then, the forecasting fields and placement changes touch anyone planning media through the API, and any ecommerce reporting still showing an Instagram Explore Feed or Messenger Stories line needs a look.

The practical move is an inventory rather than a rebuild: list every integration that calls the Graph API, mark which ones touch commerce orders, forecasting fields or the two removed placements, and check whether campaign automation creates ad sets in Housing, Employment or Financial Products without setting advantage_audience.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to do anything if my Meta ads run through the ads manager interface?

Probably not for the commerce endpoints, since those serve order-management integrations rather than the ads interface. The placement changes still reach you: Instagram Explore Feed is gone and Messenger Stories is no longer targetable, so saved templates naming either one need editing.

Can I stay on an older Graph API version to avoid this?

Only until 27 October 2026, when the v26.0 changes extend to all remaining supported versions. Older versions delay the change rather than avoid it, and v20.0 is deprecated on 24 September 2026 with v21.0 following on 21 January 2027.

Is there a replacement for the 47 blocked commerce endpoints?

No. PPC Land reported on 30 July 2026 that Meta blocked them with no replacement, because they supported the discontinued Facebook and Instagram Shops checkout experience.

Does any of this change in Thailand specifically, or later for Thai accounts?

The source does not say. PPC Land's report covers the API versions and their dates without listing country-level differences, so there is no basis for claiming a separate Thai timeline.

Where to start

If you are not sure which integrations call the Graph API, the audit is small and the deadline is fixed. Relevant Audience can walk through your Meta setup and flag what breaks before 27 October 2026.
