Marketers, are you feeling like “no matter how much you spend on advertising, you still don’t achieve the results you should?” Have you increased your budget? Adjusted your target audience? Some might even think their skills aren’t up to par. If you’re thinking like that, take a moment to calm down and look at the small details you might have overlooked, such as your landing page, which may not be as appealing or engaging as it could be.

Therefore, in this article, we’ll share tips on improving your landing page, along with examples to help you brainstorm ideas for creating highly effective landing pages. Ready? Let’s get started!

What You Need on a Landing Page

The ultimate goal of a landing page is to maximize conversions, whether it’s clicking on CTAs (Call to Action), subscribing to newsletters, or registering on the website. Let’s see what components a good landing page should have.

1. Simple and Free of Distractions

If you ask online marketing experts, almost all of them will tell you to add “lots of white space.” Many people try adding white color to their websites and find no difference. Actually, white space refers to “empty space” here.

Those who stream movies on Netflix have probably seen the signup page where you can start the registration process simply by entering your email address. A good landing page should strive to create this empty space, keeping it simple and free of other distractions to communicate your needs to users as clearly as possible. In other words, remove any information that isn’t necessary and leave only what will trigger conversions.

2. Concise and Meaningful Copy

One of the most important things on a landing page is the copy that persuades visitors to take action and generate conversions. Therefore, choosing compelling, clear, and concise wording so that readers can understand what you’re offering immediately is crucial.

For example, Keychron presents its premium mechanical keyboard with messaging about upgrading the traditional keyboard experience, ensuring that readers are in the right place if they want to buy a new keyboard for use.

3. Prominent CTA

Once visitors understand your message, the next step is to guide them to know what they need to do easily to encourage the “desire to” feeling. For example, Spotify offers free usage to users to increase conversion opportunities.

4. Don’t Forget to Add Confidence to Your Products/Services

Don’t forget to build confidence in your products or services for those who come to view them. This can be done by including trust marks such as GMP, FDA, etc., or by sharing real customer experiences with your products or services.

For example, Honey, a tool that helps find coupon codes, features Google Reviews and the number of users worldwide to guarantee its usability.

5. Images/Videos

Instead of just using text, use various media such as images, videos, or other graphics to attract user attention and explain what you want to communicate clearly. Importantly, try to use media from your actual products or services instead of stock photos to build credibility with users.

An example of using media on a landing page would be the background video loop featuring content from Apple TV+, which cannot be missed.
