Most recently, Google is rolling out additional new features on Performance Max that will help improve marketers' efficiency. Which features are they, and what are the details of each? Google Ads launches 6 new features on Performance Max
1. Optimization Score
The first feature being added is one that many marketers have been eagerly waiting for: Optimization Score, which helps marketers assess how well a campaign is performing. It comes with various criteria that provide recommendations to follow, ranging from 0 – 100%.
2. Seasonality Adjustments
The Seasonality Adjustment feature helps users build a better Bid Strategy, and it enables Smart Bidding on Performance Max to anticipate significant changes in Conversion Rate, helping to make your bidding strategy more effective.
3. Data Exclusions
The Data Exclusion feature helps Smart Bidding on Performance Max prevent problems related to Conversion Tracking, as well as Issues with Tagging and Website Outages, by applying an Exclusion so that these don't affect the bidding process.
4. Advanced Location Targeting Controls
This feature helps users target more precisely. You can configure it under "Location Options" on the Campaign Settings page, then adjust the Target to "Presence or Interest".
5. Explanations
The Explanations feature helps assess campaign performance, whether by identifying performance fluctuations and diagnosing the various issues that arise. It can also provide additional recommendations so that users can take the information and improve campaign performance in the future.
6. Diagnostic Insights
This final feature is a setup step before launching a campaign to check for insights about potential problems, whether related to advertising policies, billing, budget, and more.
For any marketers who previously started running marketing through the Performance Max tool and found that some necessary features were still missing, Google Ads has now added these features for you to use. They're sure to be an excellent aid in helping marketers work more smoothly and with greater efficiency.
