TL;DR
- Juozas Kaziukėnas of Marketplace Pulse said on 6 November 2026 that ChatGPT's tool counts daily impressions (appearances in responses) and clicks to a business website, shown as a chart.
- Access sits in a Business Hub for verified businesses; connecting a Shopify store is the only verification example reported, and he first saw early versions in August 2026.
- No prompt data, user data or competitor benchmark is included, and OpenAI has not confirmed the tool, its name, a launch date or launch markets, including Thailand.
OpenAI appears to be building a "Claim your business in ChatGPT" hub that would show verified businesses a daily chart of how often ChatGPT mentions them and how many people click through to their websites. The feature has not been announced. It was described on 6 November 2026 by Juozas Kaziukėnas, founder of the e-commerce research firm Marketplace Pulse, in a LinkedIn post, and reported the same day by Search Engine Roundtable. OpenAI has not commented, and no launch date, product name or list of countries has been given.
What Kaziukėnas reported on 6 November 2026
According to Search Engine Roundtable's report by Barry Schwartz, Kaziukėnas wrote that ChatGPT is building an analytics tool to "track how often your business is mentioned in ChatGPT conversations." He said he first saw early versions of the work in August 2026, and that a banner he saw on 6 November suggested it was getting close to launch.
The banner invites businesses to "Claim your business in ChatGPT" and lists three functions:
- See how your business shows up: track how often the business is mentioned in ChatGPT conversations.
- Show customers what you offer: add the latest products and keep business information up to date.
- Help customers make decisions: let a business agent answer customer questions with context the business controls.
Search Engine Roundtable described the project as a tool along the lines of Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools, aimed at organic ChatGPT answers, and said it appears to be separate from ChatGPT ads.
What the analytics reportedly measure
Kaziukėnas said the tool measures two things. Impressions are the number of times a business appeared in ChatGPT responses. Clicks are the number of clicks on links to the business's website. Both are tracked daily and shown as a chart.
He placed the analytics inside a larger feature called Business Hub, which he said is available only to businesses that have verified their ownership. His one example of verification was connecting a Shopify store. No other verification method has been described.
What it reportedly does not show
The gaps matter as much as the chart. Kaziukėnas said the tool does not show prompt data, user data, or any competitive benchmark or ranking. In his words as quoted by Search Engine Roundtable, it "won't help understanding why mentions/clicks are increasing or decreasing." He added that, combined with external tools that track prompts, it would give accurate first-party data on whether GEO and AEO strategies are working.
So a business would see the score but not the reasons. If mentions fall in a given week, the chart alone would not say which questions stopped surfacing the brand, or which competitor took its place.
What is still unknown
PPC Land, which covered the post on 6 November 2026, listed what has not been reported. OpenAI has not confirmed the tool, its name, a launch date or the markets where it would be available. Eligibility has been described only through the Shopify example, and PPC Land noted that it is not known whether a publisher or a service business without an online store could verify. The definition of an appearance, how repeat appearances in one conversation are counted, and the click attribution method are not known. Nothing has been reported about exports, an API, pricing or data retention.
PPC Land also flagged two naming and product questions. ChatGPT Business is already the name of OpenAI's workplace subscription, a different product from a hub for businesses that appear in answers. And the banner's mention of a business agent raises the question of how it relates to Sponsored Agents, a paid format OpenAI began testing with select US advertisers on 16 September 2026. That relationship has not been established.
All of this rests on one observer's view of an interface that has not launched. Features seen in testing can change or never ship.
OpenAI has measured this before, for a few publishers
Impression and click data from ChatGPT is not new in itself. PPC Land pointed to a Search Engine Journal article of 8 December 2025 by Vincent Terrasi about a confidential OpenAI report shared with a small group of publishers. In that report, one large publisher's top URL logged 185,000 distinct conversation impressions and 3,800 clicks in a month, a click-through rate of 2%. Counting repeat appearances within conversations, the same URL had 518,000 impressions and 4,400 clicks.
The example shows why definitions matter. The same page in the same month produced very different rates depending on whether repeats were counted. Until OpenAI documents how Business Hub counts an impression, numbers from it should not be compared directly with impressions from Google or Bing.
How the reported tool compares with Google and Bing
The table below sets the reported ChatGPT tool beside the AI reporting Google and Bing already offer, based on PPC Land's account of each.
| Platform | AI reporting available | Not included |
|---|---|---|
| Google Search Console | Generative AI reports for AI Overviews, AI Mode and Discover, announced 3 June 2026 and on every site from 31 August 2026, with impressions by page, country, device and date | Clicks and queries |
| Bing Webmaster Tools | AI Performance preview from 10 February 2026: total citations, average cited pages per day, grounding queries and page-level citation activity | Grounding queries are a sample |
| ChatGPT Business Hub (reported, unlaunched) | Daily impressions (appearances in responses) and clicks to the business website, for verified businesses | Prompts, user data, competitor benchmark |
PPC Land summed it up as three platforms with three partial answers. Google reports AI impressions without AI clicks or queries. Bing reports citations and sampled queries, and in October 2026 added a Topics Portfolio beta showing queries where other sites are cited. ChatGPT, if the tool ships as described, would report mentions and clicks without prompts.
Why a first-party count would still help
Most brands today estimate ChatGPT visibility with third-party tools that run sample prompts. PPC Land cited an IAB finding from August 2026 that only 16% of brands track AI visibility systematically. Those tools depend on the platforms tolerating them, and coverage can change; PPC Land reported that Semrush is dropping Copilot from its tracking on 9 November 2026. A count supplied by OpenAI would not depend on simulated prompts.
It would still measure only part of the effect. PPC Land cited Similarweb data from June 2026 finding that 55.9% of AI-influenced visits arrived through search rather than directly from the assistant. A person who reads about a brand in ChatGPT and later searches for it on Google would not appear as a ChatGPT click. A Business Hub click chart would firm up the direct portion and leave the rest to other measurement.
Paid and unpaid visibility are also measured differently today. PPC Land noted that ChatGPT ads opened as a pilot on 9 February 2026 and that OpenAI's Ads Manager offers click and view attribution windows, while outside a small group of publishing partners a business appearing in an unpaid answer has had no data from OpenAI at all. The Shopify route also fits a pattern: OpenAI launched Instant Checkout on 29 September 2025 with US Etsy sellers and plans for more than one million Shopify merchants, and released a Shopify app for ChatGPT ads on 3 September 2026, according to PPC Land.
What this means for Thai marketers
Nothing in the reports says whether Business Hub will be available in Thailand, or in which languages. Treat it as unconfirmed until OpenAI announces it. A few things are worth doing in the meantime, and none of them depend on the launch:
- If you sell through Shopify, keep the store connected and its product data clean. Shopify is the only verification route reported so far.
- Keep core business facts consistent across your website, product pages and listings. The banner says businesses would be able to add products and keep information up to date, which suggests ChatGPT is looking for a source the business controls.
- Start tracking referral visits from chatgpt.com in your analytics now, so that if first-party data arrives you have a baseline to compare it with.
- Keep any prompt-tracking work you already do. Kaziukėnas himself said the charts would need those tools to explain why numbers move.
For brands planning ChatGPT SEO work, the reported tool would add an outcome measure but not a diagnostic one. The diagnosis, which pages and facts AI assistants pick up and why, stays part of broader generative engine optimization.
