Keyword Research

Keyword research is the process of finding and analysing the terms your audience searches for, so you can target them with content.

It reveals demand, competition, and intent, and shapes what to publish and how to prioritise it. For example, discovering that "SEO audit checklist" has steady demand and clear intent can justify a dedicated page. Good research starts from the user's language, not your own jargon.

The list is the easy part, and prioritising it is where research earns its keep. A term worth building around needs demand, achievable competition, and a page you can realistically make the best answer for, and most keyword lists fail the third test quietly. Checking who currently ranks answers it fast: if the first page is filled with sites far larger than yours holding pages you cannot beat on substance, the term is a long-term ambition, not this quarter's work. Order the list by difficulty relative to your own authority, not by volume. That is the step that makes it a plan you can work through.
