Meta Description

A meta description is the short summary shown under the title in search results, ideally around 150 to 160 characters so it does not get truncated.

It is not a ranking factor, but a sharp, benefit-led description lifts click-through rate, and Google often rewrites it to match the user's query. Write it as ad copy rather than a keyword dump. Note the limit is in characters, not words.
